History

The TLX arrived for the 2015 model year to simplify Acura's sedan lineup, replacing both the TL and TSX with a single compact luxury model. First-generation cars were offered with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder (FWD) or a 3.5-liter V6 (SH-AWD); an A-Spec appearance package was added for 2018. The second generation debuted for 2021 with an all-turbocharged lineup — a 272-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 355-hp 3.5-liter turbo V6 — and revived the Type S performance badge after a decade-long absence. Acura ended TLX production with the 2025 model year due to declining sedan segment sales.
