History
Introduced for the 2013 model year, the ILX was positioned as Acura's most accessible model, built on the ninth-generation Honda Civic platform with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A hybrid variant was offered briefly. While it provided an affordable entry point into the Acura lineup, the ILX drew consistent criticism for its Civic-level interior materials and modest performance relative to European compact luxury competitors. Acura refreshed the ILX for 2016 with a new 2.4-liter engine and updated technology. The model was discontinued after the 2022 model year and effectively replaced by the fifth-generation Integra liftback.
