The first Lightning, on the ninth-generation truck. It used a tuned 5.8-liter V8, a lowered handling-tuned suspension, and unique wheels — a regular-cab, short-bed sport truck.
1999–2004
The second-generation Lightning, on the tenth-generation truck, added an Eaton supercharger to a 5.4-liter V8 — making it one of the quickest production pickups of its day.
