The 2002 model year

Overview

BMW's 2002 U.S. E46 range retained the same twelve exact body-and-drivetrain configurations: six 184-hp 325 models across rear- and all-wheel drive, four 225-hp 330 models, and 333-hp M3 Coupe and Convertible models. The important model-year transmission change was availability of BMW's six-speed SMG II automated manual on the M3; SMG II remained an option within each M3 body rather than a separate factory model.
